  1. Looks similar to our install.. We used webbing though.
  2. 2006 Evo MR.... Stock internals... Autcross, HPDE, PDX, GripFest.... What else do you want to know?? There really isn't too much going on in the engine standpoint.. Made some air and fuel mods in 2011 and ran E85 for about three years.. 440/390 at the wheels.. Got tired of dealing with E85 issues and went back to 93 without any other changes.. 370/355 at the wheels now...

  5. Roll Cage Options

    Our cage is also an eight point cage.. What I was told, is that if I mounted the rear backstays to the vicinity of the rear shock towers, and tied the backstays together it could be perceived as chassis strengthening. I was told to be careful, so instead I decided not to tie the backstays together....

    If you are building the cage for ChumpCar, be careful about tying the rear of the cage into the damper positions... It might be considered a value add due to chassis strengthening.. I wanted to do the same, but was advised of this by the national tech director....
  7. Thanks Mike!!! That means a lot.. I know Jeff (one of my drivers) was over in your paddock Friday evening talking to someone he knew, but I have no idea who it was, and we all just kinda migrated over and hung out for a bit.. Im sure if we can stick with it for a while we will start to figure out who is who.. Thanks again to whoever it was with Simon Says that I was speaking with through email early last year when I started this build for giving me some pointers.. They certainly helped...
  8. I did see that flashing red.. Scared the hell out of me... I begin to come to a stop, and everyone around me was still hauling donkey.... I hope we weren't in everyones way too much this weekend.. It was our first chump car event, and also first wheel to wheel race ever for every one of our drivers.. Our goals for the weekend were met (finish in one piece, don't die, keep the car running).. We exceeded our expectations by placing in the top half of the field.. We are looking at the Summit Point 10+6 as our next venture out on track with Chump, provided we aren't run off before hand for being a rolling speed bump.. We hope to continue to keep the car running, and don't die, but also continue to learn how to drive a safe fast line in traffic.. Maybe some day we will be competitive but it will take lots of seat time.... We as a team have a new found appreciation for what you guys do.. We never would have thought it was as intense as it is until we actually got out there and felt it for ourselves.. That is crazy.... And to those of you who ran the last hour when I was on track in the dark?? That was probably the single craziest thing I have ever done in my life, and I did 10 years in the Marine Corps... My brain kept saying "you're an idiot and shouldn't be out here", but my heart kept saying "find the checkered flag"..... We met a lot of great people this weekend, and hope to continue our campaign with the series. It really went better than expected.. Great people, chill atmosphere and some smart donkey remarks...     I do not agree with a reflective vest, only for the lack of fire retardant availability.. The last decent adjustable vest I bought was 45 bucks, I can only imagine what a Nomex vest would cost... I am ALL FOR MORE TRACK TIME..... So, yes.. Lead follow or whatever, I am game...

  13. We installed the Racing Fire Systems 4 liter system as well. The difference is that we installed only 3 of the 6 nozzles. The theory? A longer discharge time in the case of an emergency egress..... Great company and a great product....
