I hate to do this, but here we go:

Turnkey ChumpCar for Sale: 2000 Ford Escort ZX2. 100% ChumpCar legal*. This car includes a ChumpCar legal 6 point cage, Kirkey intermediate seat, RCI 5 point harness dated May 2010, I/O Port SFI rated window net (mounted to cage), SFI high density roll bar padding all around, Longacre kill switch (centrally located), Longacre removable steering wheel with a Sweet quick disconnect, short throw shifter, speed limiter removed, 4-wheel disc conversion, Hawk Blue brake pads, SS brake lines (one is rubber), larger rear sway bar, cold air intake, header, Chumpy suspension mods, new KYB struts (not installed), new battery. This is a very well sorted car that we have run in several events. Was running in the 2:12’s at Texas World Speedway last April and finished in the top 10. The car comes with the wheels pictured, but those are really just for storage and not for the track. It does come with 2 spare wheels for racing; the bolt pattern is 4x100 so there are a lot of wheel options out there. The last race we ran it in it would pop out of third gear occasionally, but it includes a spare transmission. The numbers will be removed before the sale. If you’re interested in being car #1 I have a set a vinyl that I will include. The car also includes a lot of spares that are mostly used (from a wrecked car), it includes:

Motor, transmission, both half shafts, brake calipers, stock air intake, fuel pump x2, radiator, electric fan, belt, new hoses, starter, motor mounts, rotors, tie rod ends, ball joints, plug wires, coils, ECM, thermostat housing, radiator cap, new spark plugs, plus a lot more. I also have a few used Falken Azenis RT615K 205/50R15 that I will throw in.

The car is located in Duncanville (Dallas), TX. Email mikem@chumpcar.com with any questions or for more pictures. The car does not include an AIV or a log book and there is no guarantee from me that you will not receive any penalty laps, proving the value of the car is up to YOU. Just add the wheels and tires of your choice and go racing!

*Car may require a muffler to meet ChumpCar’s sound requirements. I haven’t checked it with a dB meter, but it’s loud.

$3800 OBO

This is a winning car. And, if you buy it, I have a 24' enclosed trailer in Texas for sale, too!

A little history on this car

We have built 3 of these zx2s.We built 2 for our own use and one for another team.We have quite a bit of experiece with these cars and this car has all of our knowedge built into it.These cars are very reliable and make great endurance racers. We have never had an engine failure but have had brake issues which was cured by installing rear disc brakes.

I looked at our finishing positions in this car and the average finish was 11th place.Probably would have been better but we were learning proper pit stops and such.

Car finished 5th at the 24 hour race at Texas Motor Speedway, and a 8th at MSR Houston(with over 100 cars starting that race)in a Lemmons race.

This is a great car for a start up team or a team that is looking for something a little more reliable

We don't have an AIV on the car because we found a e36 that a lady was selling for a ridiculous price and we just started running Chumps. But the AIV should be very easy to establish,Since we bought 3 of them off craigslish all under $400 dollars.

We hate to get rid of this car,but we know it should make a great car for another team.

I've driven this car on TWS. It's quick. It handles well. It's easy to induce oversteer with the brakes if you so desire. It's predictable. In the hands of a good team it's a podium car. In the hands of a mediocre team it's a top 10 and a great weekend car

There are 3 ZX2's that frequent Western Region races. They all have valid AIV's. They're all deceivingly quick, handle tolerably, and have completed all of the races they've entered; thus are 24-hour race proven reliable.

I got to drive a ZX2 at laguan Seca last year - great predictable car and quite reliable - moreso than the failed attempt at a chump Porsche 911 we had at Calgary ;)

This car isn't a Chump staff car.Our race team owns this car.We painted the car like this because Jay (with citrus) told us if we race another citrus race we better change our theme or they were going to give us 1000 laps,so we changed our theme. What do you think? Nice theme,Right ? <_<

The ZX2 is a fantastic Chumpcar. Way newer and better condition then most Chumpcars, because NO ONE WANTS THEM! Its just an escort, who wants an escort? Well everyone that wants to go fast and stay on the track doing lap after lap after lap, thats who.

Our ZX2 has 4 races on it, 0 failures. The engine is original with 170k miles, and has no signs of being in need of a rebuild. Get a set of Porterfield R4-E pads and you will have 0 braking issues (3 races and pads are still over 50% life left). The tranny, if you slam it, will go bad, but if you go easy on it, there is no problems.

We have drivers that have done carting nationals all the way to one of our drivers with a prothetic leg, and all have fun driving this car.

Wow Mike, these adds are all better than Ford's original marketing campaign for this car. I can't believe it's not sold. Good luck. ;)

Is that a real poncho or an indian poncho,or is that a sears poncho?
