Sorry boys and girls I can't go here as I have been a long time collector and done lots of British car restorations.

Started at 13 and owned five or six before I could drive with a legal license.

OK to tempt you a little:

1959 Lotus Seven Series One, 47th built

1961 Lotus Elite S1 #1230, 230th built

1965 Lotus Elan S2

1969 Marcos GT 3L Wood Chassis, one of 115 built

and many more.

Nice thread and all you need to do is find a wife with the same passion.

What a nice Marcos, another car on my list of odd cars I should own at some point.  Fortunately my wife is as nuts as I am, thus the 1960 & 2016 Mini & MINI in her garage!  And she's given clear instructions that we SHALL get a Lotus by the time the Elise in our garage returns to it's owner in a few years time.

Classic car guy dilemma: I just found a 1990 Beretta GTZ with the Quad4 and close ratio 5 speed that has a pretty fresh paint job and 7 of the GTZ wheels and only 100k miles on it for $500 OBO, was running last year but didn't start this year.

So do I go get the car or get a windshield put in my '87 560SEL ...

See a little better vs having a whole 'nother car to play with ...

My wife has completed her chemo and is officially in remission. 2 more years and Doc says she is cured.  She not once told me to stop racing. Backed me 100 percent. Her first thoughts through her illness is still not of herself. I wonder what I have done to deserve her.

She likes 30's and 40's cars with running boards and fenders. I found a 1940 Ford.  Working on a deal. I think I have a few pieces in the shop to build something for her. She will not care if it is quick. But it better shine!

Here is another picture of another in the group.

The early car had such nice lines and this one is all fiberglass with all the motor, gearbox, diff and suspension hanging off the shell.

It has a .29 drag coefficient and was design on paper.

Chump the GTZ.

I'm thinking it may do well even being front drive.

If Alberta was closer I'd pick it up for the helluvit.

Edit- Don't recall if that is the same Getrag 5 speed the W41's came with. I don't think it is.

Bought one of these new, but not pace car, same wheels and suspension, in 92 for the gf. 3.1 5 speed.

Handled well. SCX destroyed it everywhere however. GTZ wasn't too much behind SCX in power department. 180 vs 190. SCX waa like a 69 Z28 though. No power below 4 grand. Had to get up on the cams.

I bought a '92 GTZ to Chump, went with the Fiero instead. I liked the GTZ, that's why I'm tempted by the '90.

The '90 has the same gear spacing as the SCX but has a 3.61 final drive instead of the 3.94. Gertag 282; also in the Fiero.

Cams for the Quad are hard to get aren't they? Is that why you didn't put the HO Quad in the Fiero?

Plenty of power available there...

One noticed the 3.94 final in the X. Spun more R's than anything I've ever driven with a 5 speed factory.

No, I went with the LX9 3500 because it had a wide power band; over 90% of peak power from 4300 to 6300 rpm. Also made more at the rear wheels than most Quad4s do at the flywheel. Much as I like a high winding 4-banger, I chose the moderate revving V6.

The next engine makes power to 7200 rpm and should sound pretty nice.

Good choice.

Saying that, you know I'm still torn on a screamer 3 inch stroke versus 3.48...

I know the right choice, but...

If you ever feel like getting a few chumps together for a tour through the collection, myself and some friends would be all over it. :)

We're just up the road in Waterloo/Cedar Falls.

Maybe at some point but going to be moving shortly and best to hold until I get everything back in one location.
