How about we talk about Mid-Ohio which is just a little over one month away.  The best part is that we will be racing while you all are at your jobs working on a Monday.  There is a NASA race going on the Sat and Sun before so we won't be able to get into the area until 5 pm.  I believe this is the same as it was last year.  I am hoping for some 70 degree weather and no rain.  So far here is who is signed up.  Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday night enjoying a couple of beverages.  Who else is stoked?  This will be our first race of the season.

How many fuel stops do you think Spartans will do?  Is this going to be another one of those races where they run fast enough, then beat everybody because most of their pit stops were 1 minute, driver change only?

Oh the race strategy of a large fuel cell and burning very little of fuel per hour.

Other questions to ponder:

How will the new GMS swap work out?

How will new rules change the cars in the Midwest?

Who will be the surprise from the new teams?

Will it rain?

GMS swap?

If it rains, we're kidnapping Misha.  You'll have to find somebody else to drive - he's an unfair advantage.  Or we'll add 50 points to your VPI for non-OE driver swap.  You know, to level the playing field.

GMS = @wvumtnbkr and his RX-7 swap.

Oooh, he acronymed.  Was wondering why I didn't see Ghetto MotorSports on the entry list.

If @Hi_Im_Will could fit 275s on the E30 I think he would be favored over Spartan Racing. With his current pizza cutter setup, good luck.

Swapped RX-7 should be the best car if executed properly.

Why aren't you and @enginerd  on the entry list?  What are all the E30 people going to complain about if there's no Honda to set stupid fast lap times?

If @enginerd and I were going, we would  run an E30. And if we did have a Honda and @enginerd and I were driving, there would be no fast laps......

Fooled me until Tyler mentioned the swap. He did the same thing you guys did last year, going with the acronym to keep a low profile...

And also because it's difficult to attract sponsors when your name involves the word "ghetto".  We were listed as GFR everywhere for about a month before we settled on Guarino-Watson Racing.

How did that old saying go? "We didn't pick your name."

I'd really like to make this race, but not sure if our preseason testing will be done by then. Working on a few changes. 😏

If We don't bring the car, I can't think of a better reason to skip real work for working pit lane at a chump race

Wonderful organizations like ChrissyCheesecake and SSSquid tuning, who thoroughly understand the needs of racers and have a commitment to providing world class Motronic ECU tuning services, aerodynamic design services, Motronic parts, and cheesecakes.  You can read more about them at sssquid.com and https://www.facebook.com/Chrissycheesecakegmr/

Because it's a 1 day race on a Monday. And we're doing Autobahn and Gingerman this year... we have been doing 2 weekends/year for the BMW and it works well for us.

Would love to go to that track, but I understand that it would be hard to turn a profit on a 2 day weekend event.

Actually, he initialismed -- it's only an acronym if it spells out an actual word. But let's not be too picky. :)

I think he was speaking of the platform itself, not of the team building and driving it! ^_^

So what he's saying is... "if you don't do well, it ain't for lack of potential"

If it is anything like last year be prepared to unload and tech outside the gate if your car hasn't run so far this year.

Can't wait!  This will be me and my team's virgin chump race!  Just hoping to finish.  Come say hi and feel free to laugh at us when you see us wondering around looking for registration, tech, driver's school and the other obligations with a lost look on our face.  We'll be in a black Miata, 'Car Ramrod'
