    3/16" birch is what we've been using too, and it is nice for breakaway in the event of contact, you can just keep on going. Once it is all bolted together, it is more sturdy than I thought it would be. I like the foam board & glass idea, although there is some added labor hours. Going to review the whole make-vs-buying a wing topic with my stepdad, he is a wiz with glass work. I need to research generally accepted construction practices VS some manufacturing ideas I have conjured up in my head, then see if the labor time merits doing it ourselves. If we can construct a light-but-strong functional 'glass wing and come in well under the $400 for the PCI SPMS P1 wing, I might be in the chumpy wing mfg business... sounds like a niche void to fill (or maybe not).

    I totally understand (and support) the no carbon fiber rule, but the COT's can be picked up cheapppp relative to just about every other option, including the imitation ricer boy wings.

    More blade is an option, and might be the quickest to implement for Sebring December. We have good lap time data and butt-feel data to see if there was a change. Then I could switch to a wing and hit up a Chin day for further testing of all 3 on the same day. Edit: I am super into learning and testing the aero stuff, but time (and money of course) is a finite resource, so making big changes can be a PITA. Ultimately I think a wing is where we need to be, but we wont know unless we spend time and $$$ to figure it out. Time is more important than money honestly. If you have enough money, you can buy someone elses time LOL.

    Yup, I found the flyingfoam.com place - buying a core and glassing it would be the "rabbit hole", which I am not opposed to, I just didn't know if there was a cost effective (time vs $$$) option already out there that I was not seeing. The SPMS wing was the only legit glass one I could find... it is right at that make vs buy price point, but it does look nice... Camaro is def. ready for more something in the rear - it is to the point that it's too free in the high speed sections and we are leaving lap time on the table, so time to add some speed creep since I have the points left over and I cant use it to buy fuel. If I can't go 2 hours, might as well make it fast as sheeot...

Chump rule says no carbon fiber, which is cool, but it looks like anything that seems to be of race-quality and not ebay/amazon special that will disintegrate over 80mph is all made from C.F...

  13. You forgot to add in the SC300/400... a platform that is capable of FTD at many types of tracks and can go 1:55 with some smart driving

    Hopefully the seller is reputable and it hasn't been "tested" before you buy it... belts & a hans are two things that you might not be able to easily spot if they have been in a crash.
