      BOD Nominations   10/03/2017

Emails have been sent to all current CCWS Members with a link to BOD nominations. Please check your email.   You will need to ask the person you're nominating for their current 2017 CCWS Member Number. Keep in mind that we will contact each nominee to make sure they are OK with being a candidate. You can't nominate yourself either (sorry). All nominations are due by November 3, 2017. To keep from having 574 different nominees, a nominee must be named by at least five members to qualify. We will compile all the nominations and put the top ten nominees on the November 10, 2017, ballot. Elections are over on December 10, 2017. We will announce the winners on December 13, 2017, and the two winners will take office January 1, 2018. How to get your current CCWS member number. Log into the CCWS event registration system. Your member number will be next to your name on the welcome screen. https://www.chumpcar.com/register/login.php Mike Chisek

  1. Ran When Parked!

We've been starting our clean-up. Getting rid of the simple stuff first. I think we've taken 25 pounds of sound deadening already! Even in IT trim it was 250 pounds heavy!

That's me. I still have an ITA Nissan that I run. I would imagine this can be done cost effectively if you just keep your focus on keeping things frugal. There's no intent to win. Just be able to get a group together and enjoy.
  3. Ran When Parked!

Just getting into the game! Was baptized at the Watkins Glen event this year (2017) and thought everyone was nuts! Coming from SCCA club racing I was looking to see if Chump was something for me. I kept shaking my head. No, too much. Too involved. Saw lots of people pouring over cars in the garage. Rebuilding engines and transmissions overnight. Swapping them out. This was insane. I said I'm not doing this! Too much of a commitment. But now I can't stop thinking about how much fun this was. The Protege was purchased from a friend that was in the ITA group that I would hang with at Mid Ohio. The price was right and my long time friend Bob Marano wanted to get back into racing. We were doing the math and figured with a little help we could do this on a budget. I know there is no such thing as cheap racing, but the quest for us would be to do as much as possible with as little as possible. Little to no more investment into the car as it sits with general wear items to only deal with. K.I.S.S. and finish and have fun. Then go from there. So the plan is for 2018 to hit a couple of races with some other friends to help us do this. We promise to move over for you!
  4. Junk Payer Special #500

Wing, bullet lights and skirt are gone, along with all that excessive body lean!
  5. Junk Payer Special #500

    Watkins Glen 2017!
  6. The UNOFFICAL don't miss Gingerman Thread

Junk Player Special #500 Jetta will be there!
  7. Kick ass ITA car! Worth the $$. Take a trade for a slower Nissan?
  8. Junk Payer Special #500

It's nice to see the car resurrected and back on track! Good luck to all of you this season. I hope to make it to Mid Oh on the 25th.
  9. Automatics?

Would it be too hard to convert an auto v-6 626 to a manual if we cant find a factory one?
  10. Automatics?

It's funny, when my buddy and I started talking about this, before we dug into classed cars, we thought of a Mazda 6. Something that might have been taken care of a little better than the smaller cars. Thought of Camry and Accord too...
  11. Automatics?

So recommendations? I'm sure most would say 3 series or Miata.
  12. Automatics?

Would like to do something that they made a kazillion of that I know I can go to any boneyard USA and find whatever I need.
  13. Automatics?

Finding another NX is pretty tough. Now finding a b13 Sentra would make more sense (basically the same except for the body) but up here they are all rotted out.
  14. Automatics?

Mentor. I am hoping to get to MO on the 25th to help out with my friends Jetta. Get a better look at the whole event and system. My son loves endurance racing and that's why I'm checking Chump. SCCA is pricey on it's own. The thought of getting a group together and run sounds like it could be a blast. Our initial build would be just car with safety equipment. Then start scavenging for go faster upgrades. $$$ would be the forefront of any build.
  15. Automatics?

LOL! I brought my Mini street car up from Virginia. Not a spot on it even with 215k on the odometer. And no I am not using that either! Will have to get my NC friends to watch out for something.
