  1. Rumors are a funny thing. They are usually built upon a tidbit of information and then constructed with a lot of entertaining hearsay. The truth regarding PIR is that a prior Regional Director did not pay the track rental bill before they left. After they had left the club, I was contacted by E.C. Mueller of PIR with the overdue invoice. PIR was paid in full at that time and we currently have no outstanding balance with PIR or any track in the county. Mr. Mueller has welcomed ChumpCar back to Portland when we are ready. And we will return.
  2. If the pace car stays at 45mph, it will pass pit in just before the wrecker clears the course. If the pace car slows to 35mph, the wrecker will clear the course and then the pace car can exit as well. We always set out to do 45ish, but may adjust it if we can sync up with the emergency vehicle. Gets us back to green flag racing 1 lap sooner.
  3. There are currently 16 qualified nominees. All 16 nominees have been sent an email requesting answers to questions, a bio about themselves and a picture. Their responses will be compiled into a "voting cheat sheet" that will be sent to all members before voting begins.
  4. All qualified nominees will be getting an email from me that will ask them: - Do you want to be on the ballot? - Can you write a short bio about yourself? - Can you answer these five questions (that the BOD has written)? The answers will be sent to all members for their review before the official voting begins.
  5. 2018 Schedule

And the 15 minutes it takes me to fix each wrong entry.
  6. #1 - Florida #2 - California #3 - North Carolina
  7. NC has the 3rd highest concentration of ChumpCar members in the country. What are 1 and 2? We'll be back with the answer after these messages....
  8. 2018 Schedule

27 of 28 dates have been confirmed. Only waiting on Laguna to confirm now. I can open registration now, but a lot of you will sign up for the 2018 Barber event instead of the 2017 event. I'll open it by the weekend.
  9. Not all values are fresh. There are A LOT of cars on the table and I do not have the time or sanity to review all at once. If a value seems perplexing to someone, they should email it to us for review. That being said, a few cars have artificially low values on purpose. We are trying to encourage their use. The most common example is the Camaro and Mustang.
  10. For clarity here: Rush Hour Karting White Oak Business Park 5335 Raynor Road Garner, NC 27529 919.662.9101
  11. Board bios were one of those projects that Bill and I started and it never got finished. We will get them posted.
  12. 2018 Schedule

No weekend date was available to us.
  13. 2018 Schedule

We have a request in with Brainerd. They are working things on their end and will get back with us. We could not make the dates work for something at Autobahn in 2018.
  14. As of Saturday night, 14 people have garnered at least five or more nominations. Great names who are all passionate about our club. Remember, it doesn't matter if you have 5 or 50 nominations. Once you have been nominated by five people, you are on the November ballot for the board seats election.
  15. So after conferring with the board, I have had Bill Strong update the instructions on the nomination page. 1. Each member can nominate one person per open seat 2. A member cannot nominate the same person twice So this means you can submit two nominations this time around. Looking at the data, that's what most of you were doing anyway, so it all worked out. There was at least one person who was nominating someone multiple times, so all the duplicate nominations they submitted will be deleted but the original will be retained. Remember, we're not taking only the top nominees, we're taking anyone who was nominated by at least 5 people. Right now there are 11 people who have at least five unique nominations. I imagine that by the end of the month there will be a large pool of candidates to pick from from it comes time to submit your ballot. Thank you for working with us on this. It's our first election and we're still learning. We'll work the bugs out of our process and it will be smoother in the future.
