      BOD Nominations   10/03/2017

Emails have been sent to all current CCWS Members with a link to BOD nominations. Please check your email.   You will need to ask the person you're nominating for their current 2017 CCWS Member Number. Keep in mind that we will contact each nominee to make sure they are OK with being a candidate. You can't nominate yourself either (sorry). All nominations are due by November 3, 2017. To keep from having 574 different nominees, a nominee must be named by at least five members to qualify. We will compile all the nominations and put the top ten nominees on the November 10, 2017, ballot. Elections are over on December 10, 2017. We will announce the winners on December 13, 2017, and the two winners will take office January 1, 2018. How to get your current CCWS member number. Log into the CCWS event registration system. Your member number will be next to your name on the welcome screen. https://www.chumpcar.com/register/login.php Mike Chisek

BMW E30 325 parts available at the track should you want something for the oh snap situation.  Parted out a sedan this spring and still have a bunch of stuff left.  stop by the 142 Black Perl Miata.  Or PM me and I can check for a certain part and put it aside for you.

And for everyone coming this weekend, we'll have a backup car for anyone who wants to pick it up. It sucks to blow up early on the first day, I've been there. At least you can have the option to still keep racing for the rest of the weekend. :) The car has has already been teched for 2017 and is ready to go.

Before someone asks, we considered renting it out. But way too many factors to worry about. As Jeremy Clarkson says about rental cars, they are the: "Fastest car in the world... Until the moment you crash it."

You mean I don't get the pressure of watching that thing lift a rear wheel all over the track this weekend?  That's disappointing.  What are you running now?

The the car was hooked up great in our last race at Road America. I wish we had a photo of the car Tripodding!

*You might see it, if someone uses it as a backup car! :)

We are racing with Plumb Crazy, owned by Tom and his son Alex over here in La Crosse.

Back story: I was 10yrs old when I met Tom racing IKF karts with my Dad. Tom was one of them guys who would help everyone in the pits. My dad and him raced in the same class while I raced in the Jr. class. I only got to race him once on a open fun day when when I was 12. In the race I got up behind him straightaway giving him a very slight push so he go into the corner a bit hot. He went a bit wide and I slipped under him. After the race, he gets out of his kart (I found out later he gave a wink to my Dad here) and he came over to my kart, gets in my face and asks "what kind of dirty racing was that!?" I reply "rubbin's racing" and everyone has a good laugh.

I'd like to think I learned a lot from that clay pit track growing up. How I'd rather help someone in the pits, and race them on track. And that racers are like family.

Interesting.  Good luck out there.  They has less than stellar luck there this spring.  I think the car was still sporting the battle scar at BIR.

Remember, mic in your face, thank mom, wife, boy/girlfriend/life partner / ex-wife, sponsors (read the car!), And let the world know how much you love trading Paint in chumpcar!
