3rd Gen Firebird for Dozens of Dollers

Recommended Posts

Anyone have interest in building a 3rd gen Pontiac Firebird?

Pics later.

What I have:

1992? 1990 T top 2.8 auto 2 owner car that brother Jake abandoned in my yard a year+ ago with the promise of bringing the title some day...

If someone sincerely wants to Chump this thing all I want is a hour stint on its maiden voyage.

The good:

Never wrecked, always adult owned

Drove here, good driveline

Always syn fluids

No body rust, Florida car

Spare stock calipers.

The bad:

Prob has a couple soft floors from leaking t tops

Bad brake booster

Bad mounts

Odd hole in oil pan that leaks when overfilled, has been driven like this 2+ yrs

Bad hatch hinges and latch

No longer starts with key, bad ign switch Edit: key working

Headlight motors stripped out

Been sitting, no clue if it will fire on demand Edit : nope, no fuel pressure, pump power confirmed. Starts with prime.

Never got the title but am currently looking

Why it was parked: Easier to move to another car then fix all the little issues.

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Plan B will be Knights of Destruction  B)  (look it up)

Already have one with dom-o-nating 305 power...actually we have 2. Cheap and easy to work on for sure. Ours had T-Tops...but not anymore. Oh and it is an L-69 car... rare options but hey who cares....those parts sold and made the car FREE

This could be awesome with a 3x00 engine and t5.  Should basically bolt right in!

About anything GM will bolt in or run as is, this ad was not premeditated and actually posted while having a random thought, figured this car should go out in a blaze of glory of some sort rather sell off to a undermentioned fate.

If no one takes the offer it will be @ Orlando Speedworld 11/24, this was my entry last year, no in car of the evenings antics but this was the end (Jeep with shark fin on top)

Comes already named, "Blackbird" as owner #1 was pilot in a SR71

Floors might be in better shape then thought, it's holding water just fine:P

looks like our spare 88 Formula.... wish we had the nice nose cone. Let me know if you want to unload the front bumper cover.

If it goes to Knights of destruction I will be doing up some "mad max" bumpers, the cover will be removed nicely ;)

Let me know, that nose will work better at Daytona than out current unit... FWIW I've parted out 2 of these, you can make decent money.

Daytona for sure, its pretty areo looking with no holes.

The interior is not that great, not sure what can be parted, PM me with ideas.

Perhaps so but we found out they don't hold up on the dirt track...

You must be seeing different photos than I am.  I'm seeing pre-crash GMs. ;)

haha those cars are much nicer than the car I used to build a racer back in 2010. With a little love they can be fun to race.

Without  Salt/snow we get a chance to wear these things out, this one probably has 250 K on it.  Transmission, engine and rear, all fine, we just get tired of driving them when they get a bunch of  nagging little problems such as headlight motors,  Oil leaks, brake booster,  Power door locks,  deterioration of high-quality GM  interior parts, dripping water from every top facing glass etc.

While the bodywork may live longer down here the interiors don't, it's half a death sentence when the air-conditioner quits on an old car ....(although this one worked when parked)

Looks a lot nice than  it is. It was FULL of cigarette ashes, smelled like beer and bong water, the ass end sat in the grass so there are some holes in the well, the pass side was hit and the fender is pushed back...  Here's our 84 L69 trans Am when we bought it
