This is why TARC (and I believe SVRA had some input as well) asked Pirelli "design a radial which works like a bias-ply". The current TA2s are practically re-enacting the late-'60s/early-'70s TA racing....

Radials that drive like a bias...

Just put some Hoosiers on and hit it.

Sponsorship plays into it I'm sure.

Pirelli is the Official Tire Supplier -- that Pirelli was willing to listen to what TARC asked for, never mind actually *do* it....

Will guarantee they don't drive like bias plys.

May be slick, whatever. It's the construction.

Saying that, watching SVRA vids shows you the difference between a real driver and a guy with a thick wallet.

Today, those cars are 600 plus hp easy within their rules.  (470 for the Chevy in 69)

No four wheel drifts seen out of any of them. On Blue Streaks. Really?

Put a Donohue or Parnelli in one of those cars and they'd drop close to ten seconds compared to the guys driving the pumped up cars they have now.

Talking SVRA. TA2 doesn't hit the mark either.

They're trying, but no.
